The flameco gets his color from eating little shrimps and other red colored (shell)fish.
I guess the grey one in the flock is a youngster.
At least they don't make a fuss about it when someone has a different color. |

welcome loon...its a pretty fine catch you have here and i can tell the stranger..if you can try adding a bit of gamma to lighten up the tones a bit..
i never got any flamingoes photographed well..i was too far away and used a digital zoom setting which was suicide for detail
well composed and shot
cheers

Hi Loon :)
It looks very interesting. It's amazing the place to be photographed. I really like this photo. Good composition and really nice color.
Regards,
Krzysztof
Hello Loon,
A hard photo to capture with the hard light of day. I like the balance of the image and the exposure on the Flamingoes.
One very small suggestion, if the background does not compliment the foreground and subject matter you may have wanted to use another F stop. With this image maybe an F stop of F 8--11 would do and still keep the far side of the bank in focus and leave out the hillside in the rear section.
Good catch...
Steve
Hello Loon,
Lovely capture of these beautiful birds!
I didn't know they change colour after that age... Well composed image, where main subjecta are emphasised but still with good impression of the habitat!
Nice work!
