Judging by the long shadows it obviously was a very low lying sun. Well what else can one expect at quarter to nine at evening even considering the fact that it is in the northern hemisphere? For us here in Southern Africa it is almost unthinkable that the sun can still shine so bright at this time of day. At five o’clock at winter time the sun has long gone to sleep and darkness prevails. This light gave you a perfect opportunity to catch some lovely warm tones on the tiger. I fancy how the colour of the flowers in the background echoes the colours of the tiger. The photo has very sharp focus and the lighting on the tiger is also very good. How they say, a great composition and good point of view.

Hi Anick

You have captured an excellent shot of this lovely young tiger enjoying the late afternoon / early evening sun. I just love the soft light and how it highlighted those whiskers. These are magnificent animals and I am always totally captivated when I watch them move. One cannot understand how such a big body can move with such grace and how the power just radiates from their perfectly toned bodies.

Your composition is quite fine, the colours are well saturated, the details are sharp as nails and well defined, the contrasting green, green BG compliments the animal very well, and the exposure was spot-on.

Very nice picture of a very rare cat. You have captured a very calm situation and the tiger looks very relaxed - and enjoying the sun. The handling of the light is very good and the colours look very natural. Very good sharpness all over the tiger. I think I would crop it a little tighter to get more attention to the face of the tiger. I dared to make a workshop to show what I mean - hope it is OK.
