This one has dirty feet from sitting on the flowers..
I think it is the Helophilus pendulus or maybe the Myathropa florea. Does anyone knows ?? |

Hi Kristy,
een mooie scherpe macro,wel wat probleemen met de kleuren,ik denk dat dit overkomen had kunnen worden mbv een invulflits,de kleuren en contrasten hadde idg waarschijnlijk beter tot recht zijn gekomen,in ieder geval een mooie opname,

Hello Kristy,
a beautiful macro of this hoverfly which I think is Myathropa florea. Well-focused and pretty good sharpness. I also like the pebbles as natural background. Reflections on the wings are well managed.

Hi Kristy,
I think this is actually a drone fly - Eristalis Tenax. It is quite typical to see them alight on stones when they are not flying from one flower to the other. They are quite similar in appearance to bees.
IMMO, a bit of fill flash would have brought out more detail from the shadows in this shot. Otherwise, it is well framed and very sharp

but it is interesting and different insect for me
i like composition, point of view, blurry background, colours, sharpness and details
