Hello Peter,
A wonderful sharp capture of a male Red-crested Pochard with great lighting and eye contact from a fine POV. The colour variation on the head is fantastic in this photo and the BG colours of the water and the reflections set it off well in a pleasing composition.
A superb portrait of this feral species in Holland!

Now THIS is what I call a professional done image. Not sure if you did any play with it...but it looks real enough to be quacking at me. I wouldn't be surprised to hear it in other words...and yet there is this smooth and mellow quality to the water....it is mesmerizing Peter!

Refined picture of this cute bird at wonderful scenery. It is clear that image of the Red-crested Pochard is amazing in every respect. However, I am impressed a lot with fantastic reproduction of the water surface. Exposure tine is selected very well and you managed to freeze the motion of water by the most impressive way. Aren't these ducks attractive!
I have seen them at Martin Mere, in Lancs.
Excellent sharp details, well saturated.
The bird has plenty of space to swim into and the reflections are sharp and attractive.

This is really a special image. The colours of the feathers is striking, the expression on the face priceless and the red eye beautiful.
