A very pleasant Kookaburra portrait, where the close-up work is very well done...
Tight framing adds dynamics, personally I'd rotate to make the bird look to the right side but that is me...

after reading the title first thng that came into my mind was cricket ball..one type of ball is called Kookaburra :D
Excellant portrait of kingfisher...great details especially feathers and eye....the beak is torn.this guy might had some rough days back......TFS
