Grebes are among my favorites, and I am lucky that not too far from Rotterdam there's a field with orchids and close by a lake with about a dozen pairs of the black-necked grebes.

Wonderful and amazing kind of duck! I have never seen it before. I guess it would be a good reason to visit Rotterdam :)

Great sharpness, nice POV and wonderful details. The colors of Grebe are simply amazing, especially the head and eyes. I must say that great facial feature's details.

Hi Jeroen,
I love grebes too, but we don't have black-necked grebes in California!
This one is really pretty, and I like that red eye, and the golden feathers radiating out of it.
Nice pose and very fine details.
