Sympetrum sanguineum

The blood-red heath darter (Sympetrum sanguineum) is a dragonfly of the family of choirs bolts. The males stand out by their striking blood-red appearance, and therefore it since a fire dragonfly. Other heath dragonflies both the male and the female easily distinguished by the entirely black legs. The body length is between 34 and 36 millimeters. The habitat of the blood-red heath dragonfly consists of static or slowly flowing very reasonable food rich waters.
The species is in the Netherlands and Belgium a general kind. He comes across the Pale Arctic region.
The flight period is from mid June to mid October.
