Hi Bob,
rather them than me, thats looks freezing! The light here is quite harsh and bright, but the colour of the water and the setting overall is lovely. The mix of ice and water is great too.

Two lovely birds have been captured, wonderful warm light to compensate for the cold water!
Interesting poses, and the shining white plumages are well exposed...
I don't think swans are so much bothered with the temperature, the problem rises if the ice prevents them from getting to the food!

Gelukkig hebben deze dieren de laatste jaren geen winters meer gekend, gelukkig maar, dan is het voor ons ook goed.
De eerste zwaan met de weerspiegeling van zijn bek geeft een prachtige foto en samenstelling.

lovely shot of this couple of Swans in a freezing weather,
fine POV, lovely luminosity of the image and reflection on the
beautiful blue water that gives a special effect as you write,
looking at that wave circle you did well framing the swans
on the middle of the image, great sharpness and details, TFS

Now this does look cold!!..as you say the reflecting blue sky is a very nice effect..I guess a polariser would do the same thing but then it would detract from your swans lovely natural colours..I love the reflection of the swans.
