2 eggs for the swans!

Yesterday evening the first two eggs were there!
Here you see the male arriving on the nest while the female went away looking for food.
Beware of the cob, especially at this time, as he is highly territorial and zealous in his defence of his family. With a strong wing strike, he can break the leg of a human intruder who ignores his loudly hissed warning.
It is expected that there will come 7 or 8 eggs in total. The eggs hatch in about five weeks. I'll keep you informed.

The father looks very proud of those eggs. Almost as proud as the photographer? :) This image very nicely embodies the hope of spring...
Do you like your 18-200? I'm sorely tempted by that lens but it sounds almost too good to be true...
