[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today I'll post a picture of the Yellow bellied toad (Bombina variegata). I have explained the situation in the netherland in a previous post. As a lover of warm conditions these toads are very active now. The dry month (no precipitation in April so far) makes that there is no reproduction water for them. Hopefully next week will bring some rain.

As dull brown they are from above, so colourfull they are underneath. I hope to see his cousin (the fire bellied toad next month when I go to Poland)

Hi Jacob

What a weird creature. Great POV and DOF - I really like the eye position. The toad is well isolated from the BG. The seed head adds a little reality.

James

Great POV and amazing subject, nice sharpness and details.

Hallo Jacob,
Bedankt
Annick

Hello Jacob,
Fine capture of this rare toad with excellent shapness and BG set in a good comp.
In Sweden we have the Fire-bellied (B. bombina) very rare in the very south. It became extinct over 40 years ago but has been re-introduced and surviving well after conservation measures. We shall try to get some shots of it soon.
TFS and have a nice weekend, Ivan

Bonjour,
belle macro ... composition très original et graphique ...

Hello Jacob,
Nice shot showing this interesting species. I like it a lot. I see very often the yellow bellied toads while hiking in the Carpathians or Balkans so they always bring nice memories.

So you go to Poland!!?? Where to exactly? Any photographic trip???

Best greetings,
Michal

Hello Jacob!
Nice and "low" close-up with interesting profile POV. I like DOF and natural BG.
I also believe that you will find a Bombina bombina during your trip to Poland (really near Cracow there is hibridization zone where you can observed B.variegata x B. bombina!)
Best greetings,
Radomir

PS. If you decide to visit Lodz, please let me know!! :)
