This is a common Apis Mellifica, or Honey Bee.
In Europe they mainly live in hollow trees, but are also cultivated. This one was not cultivated!
I used my 150mm Sigma Macrolens for this picture. There was not much light, but I was able to catch it on this flower. If you look closely you can see that it has collected a surplus of pollen on its leg. I think that's why they call it the busy Bee... It was hard not to over-expose this part, but I think it worked.

Hi Arjuna.
You have a very lovely gallery, specially the macro posts are very nice.
You made a very good use of flash here, the light is great and colours vivid and clear. I like your BG too.
Much better this size than the previous ones, which where a bit small to see good details.
