I think this is a paardenbloemspanner (Idaea seriata)Graue Zwergspanner, Small Dusty Wave
Thanks Peter(batu) for helping with ID

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Insecta
Order: Lepidoptera
Family: Geometridae
Genus: Idaea
Species: I. seriata
Binomial name: Idaea seriata(Schrank, 1802)

The Small Dusty Wave (Idaea seriata) is a moth of the family Geometridae. It is found throughout Europe, the Near East and North Africa. In the British Isles it is common in England and Wales but is only found in the eastern half of Scotland and is absent from Ireland.

The species is very small (wingspan 19-21 mm) and is probably one of the least striking members of the whole family, being basically grey with all markings indistinct apart from the black discal spot typical of the genus. Either one or two broods are produced each year and the species can be seen on the wing any time from June to September, flying at night and sometimes coming to light.

The larva feeds on ivy and the species overwinters in this form.

Hello Thijs,
a nice presentation of this small Geometridae moth. The fine and delicate structures are well seen, particularly the antennae and the wing scales. Superb sharpness and natural colours.
The species belongs to the genus/era
- Sterrha or Idaea
which are small-sized and difficult to distinguish. I have a picture of a similar or even the same species, but did not succeed in 100% identification, although I have a comprehensive book (The Geoetrid Moths of Europe, Vol. 2 Sterrhinae). Perhaps, it is impossible based on a picture of the upperside only.
Best wishes, Peter

Hi Thijs,
Excellent shot, with pin sharp detail and simple but splendid framing. Considering the light colour of subject and BG, exposure was not easy but you pulled it off magnificently.

Hello Thijs

The wings texture is amazing. It looks like a finely woven fabric.Wonderful use of lighting. The details and focus are sharp. The colour palette is well matched and the colours are well saturated.Very good POV and DOF.A high quality image.TFS

Rob

I love the texture of this picture Thijs... Its wings seem to fit with those "bricks". You did well with focus, POV and composition. Exposure is spot on too with great DOF and beautiful colors tones. TFS,
Claudine
