[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This one has dirty feet from sitting on the flowers..

I think it is the Helophilus pendulus or maybe the Myathropa florea. Does anyone knows ??

Hi Kristy,

Paul

Hello Kristy,
a beautiful macro of this hoverfly which I think is Myathropa florea. Well-focused and pretty good sharpness. I also like the pebbles as natural background. Reflections on the wings are well managed.
Best wishes, Peter

Hi Kristy,
I think this is actually a drone fly - Eristalis Tenax. It is quite typical to see them alight on stones when they are not flying from one flower to the other. They are quite similar in appearance to bees.
IMMO, a bit of fill flash would have brought out more detail from the shadows in this shot. Otherwise, it is well framed and very sharp
