I made this photo in the Vlietlanden. That's a place of natural beauty nearby Vlaardingen in SW of the Netherlands. The distance between the lens and the flower is about 10 cm. I didn’t flash. I made this photo out the hand. What technical specifications about de camerasetting:

Hoi Bob,
Ik ben nog steeds opzoek naar een wilde orchidee in Nederland. maar hopelijk heb ik zondag een op de foto staan. Ik heb een locatie gekregen van iemand. Deze foto heeft erg mooi detail, en prachtige kleuren. Het mooie is dat het lijkt alsof de bloem echt los komt van de achtergrond. Het enige eat ik jammer vind, is dat je eigenlijk de foto van een iets to hoog punt hebt genomen.

This one has some similarity with one of the two orchids found in the wild in Norway, the size fite well too!
Good details are captured in this fine close-up; DOF works well and fine clarity in colours!
