Polyommatus icarus mating / Common Blue male mating / Gemeiner Bläuling oder Hauheckel-Bläuling / L'Argus Bleu ou L'Azuré de la bugrane / Icarus blauwtje paar.
Wing length 14-18 mm. The upper side of the male is blue, the female is brown, but can vary a lot in the amount of aditional blue. On the under side of the upper wings there are two, sometimes very small, spots near the base of the wings.
Flying time:
From the end of May untill early July and from medio July untill early September.
Appearance:
Common on practically all kinds of grasslands.
Foodplant caterpillar:
Small Fabaceae, in particular Lotus corniculatus.
As can be read from its name, the Common Blue is one of the most common Blues in Europe. It can be found anywhere from the Canary Islands up to the Arctic areas of Scandinavia and Finland.

Sharpness and exposure are very good.
Pity there are some pieces of leaf on the left side. They distract a little.
