Sorry guys, another flower photo. I haven't had the opportunity to get some good landscape photos and I don't have any good photos left in my archive. I think I just need to hang on for a few more weeks before I will leave for my summer vacation to Scotland.

As you can see, I am slowly moving away from the addiction to yellow flowers. I got one that also has some white in it. Hopefully I will have a non yellow flower soon.

I have to say that I am not completely sure that I IDed the flower correctly. I am in doubt if this is the German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita), or the Corn chamomile / Field Chamomile (Anthemis arvensis).
I hope somebody can loose my doubt.

I took this photo early evening, a few minutes before another thunderstorm arrived. I handheld this shot, since I was trying to also make a few photos with some insects sitting on the flowers. Unfortunately, they didn't turnout good. Shallow DOF and offcentered composition were my goal. I do feel that the focus came out a bit too soft.

Shot in RAW, adjusted white balance and a small crop. Converted to JPEG. Adjustment on levels and USM.

Hi niek, I like your shot on the flower and the focus. Good work and nice details. The color and the lighting is good. TFS Ganesh

Hi Niek.
It is a bit soft but I like what you tried to do here. One flower to focus on the the others all fall into a beautiful shallow depth of field. The colour is beautiful though throughout your image in the early evening light.

Hello Niek,
A very delicate flower capture!
The colour palette is attractive, and the narrow DOF gives a special effect...
Well composed presentation, I like this kind of experimental image!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Niek,
German flower from the Netherlands?
Normaly dutch flowers come from NL to Germany and not the other way ;-)
I like it, so nice with the soft ones in the BG, thanks and greetings

The exposure is excellent on this shot. I'm not too sure about the super shallow depth of focus. I'd like to see at least one flower entirely sharp. I like the idea of this composition though,

Evelynn : )

Could be Roman Camomille Niek. I know that one is the low lying version and the other is the taller species which you have here.
I've been into the flower thing myself as of late as I too haven't had time for the landscape adventures but that will change next weekend!

Thanks for your warm wishes and kind words, too!

This is another lovely flower shot and yes, i can see the yellow-addiction is slowly passing :))))
I really love what you did with the DOF here as well as with the exposure. You really made it look all so beautiful!

Hi Niek. This a a very good shot of the Chamomile. I like the way you hane focused on one flower only. which shows it of to its best. very good colur. and compostion. well done TFS.

Hi Niek,

really very well done, the sharp flower perfectly positioned in the right hand side of the foreground is wonderful, and the blurry repetition of the other flowers in the background makes the overall effect excellent. A very artistic and well seen shot.
Looks like i'll just miss you in Scotland by a week or so, as i am off to the Great Wilderness on the 1st July. Emma (Aramok) mentioned you were meeting up - maybe next time!

Cheers,

Paul

Hi Niek I think if the DOF had of spanned to the other flower connected by the thread of silk that would have made an interesting capture. As It is the main flower is a little soft. How long is your stay in Scotland and which regions are you thinking of visiting. Regards Steve.

Hi Niek.
Very beautiful. Great DOF. I love the simplicity. Great colour and composition. Well seen and shared.
Best regards, Steve.

I disagree with most of the comments on the DoF. I don't really want much more -- maybe f5.6 or 6.1. I like the focus on that thread and that attached flower. I don't mind the second flower attached by the thread being OOF. (And I dont' mind being the odd man out).

P.S. Enjoy Scotland. I expect some really nice landscapes from there. I've seen a few postings by signal-womb lately that make it look very appealing!

Hello Niek,
Camomille are beautiful and so useful flowers! I love the way you isolated this particular one, natural tone of colors, composition, details and DOF :) Thanks!

Hi Niek

This is a great essay in colour apart from anything else. I like the shallow DOF and the strand of gossamer trailing from the flower in focus.

James

Hi Niek

I love the daisies Neik, I especially the DOF showing the soft focus on the daisies in the background. Colours are very nice, yellow and green soft hues. Great composition.

Hello Niek !
I have missed many pictures frm you during my absence, what a pleasure to discover them now ! This is one of my favorites. I love vivid colors, as well as the composition and the DOF - the blurred flowers in the BG are so beautiful ! It looks like some beautiful painting. Very well done !
Valerie.

Hi Niek,
Hey don't be sorry about taking flower photos, I love um! Whats the difference between a Chamolile and a Daisy? They look the same to me...either way love the shot..taken from a great perspective and great dof...TFS
