| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This morning I noticed this perculiar scene. A harvestman had wandered into my (cultivated, they're not a native plant here) Venus Flytrap, triggering it. The result is a good meal for said Flytrap, the Harvestman's legs sticking out of the trap.
The Venus Flytrap supplements its diet by catching and digesting insects. It does so with it's ingenious leaves. An insect will be drawn to the leaf, and triggers the sensor hairs on it repeatedly. The leaves will snap shut, and the insect will be slowly digested. After a while only the hard parts remain, and the leaf opens up again, ready for the next meal. |

Hoi Ijdo,
Je hebt het zelf al aangegeven, het is een gecultiveerde plant. Helaas, en dat meen ik, mag deze foto dus niet op TN. Ik moe toegeven dat die van jou wel in perfecte staat is, de mijne is dood.
Groeten,
Niek
good macro.
Not eating the legs is such a waste. By chicken this is the best.
:)
Composition is great. Love it.
