Portrait of a Hamadryas Baboon. A male!
I uploaded a female Hamadryas Baboon two days ago.
These images were taken in "Safaripark Beekse Bergen"

description wiki
Apart from the striking size difference between the sexes (males are often twice as large as females) which is common to all baboons, this species also shows sexual dimorphism in coloration. Males are silver-white colored and have a pronounced mane, while the females are maneless and brown. The face is colored red. The male hamadryas baboon is not to be confused with the Japanese Macaque.

Hi Annick

This is just adorable! I really like the way the Baboon has turned to look at you. Awesome pose. :-)

Beautiful expressive portrait Annick.
Great intense look in the eye and a real good poser he is.
Composition, sharpness, DOF and lighting are flawless like always and the green color tones in the BG, against wich the Baboon does stand out greatly, are wonderful.
Perfect work.

Hi Annick,
Splendid portrait again with a fantastic expression and sharp details. Interesting to note that males have more hair on their head than females, ha ha ha, for once atleast. Everything about the shot is so perfect and beautiful. Excellent POV and very nicely composed. Kudos.
TFS.

Hi Annick,
I don't know why but I always feel there is something evil about Baboons. But regardless you have caught it well.
Good definition in the portrait.
Well done,
Peter

Excellent close up. Nice detail and good range of tones. Thanks for sharing.
