[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all,
This is a mating display of "Red Postman" Butterfly! some of the butterflies usually do this display and i'm sure its some kind of mating display.
This was taken when i visited ARTIS for the first time!

Goutham, Nice note and well you have managed to shoot this on the movement. But slightly blur image which is understandable. Thanks for sharing friend. Ganesh

Interesting capture. I have noticed the butterflies' behavior during mating. It is interesting how the female butterflies are aroused in the presence of male butterflies of the same specie. I do not know how they identify their own specie as well as feel presence of male. The behavior you have captured, that of female showing interest in mating by raising the back is an interesting moment. Not only have you captured the male in the act, you have also captured the male in the picture. Great show.

Hello Goutham,

This is the first time I am seeing a photo displaying the 'courtship behavior' of butterflies.Excellent capture. I have also noticed this kind of display among butterflies ready to mate.You have captured the moment with good sharpness and POV showing the approaching male and the body arched female.Very educative shot.
