[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is "Livingstone's Turaco" shot at ARTIS long time back :-). I think ppl would have got fed up of my macro so i thought I'll post some other pics for a change!

The Livingstone's Turaco (Tauraco livingstonii) is a species of bird in the Musophagidae family. It is found in the humid forest areas of Burundi, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. Within its range, the Livingstone's Turaco inhabits mountain and coastal forests, from sea level to 2500m.

The Livingstone's Turaco is approximately 45cm from beak to tail, and weighs about 262-380 grams. Females are generally slighter in appearance than males. Most usefully for species identification, the white tipped crest is anteriorly pointed when erect and measures around 65-75mm long.

Hi Goutham. This is an amazing shot of the bird.The detail and sharp focusing is first class. very good eye contact and good colours. a very nice DOF. well done TFS. good notes too.

A very good photo of this interesting bird.Though I have spent 3 years in Mozambique(Maputo),I have not been lucky to see this bird.Photo is sharp with good colour.

What an exotic looking bird! Fantastic colors - that is some green. Beautiful eye, crest, and plummage. The picture could not be sharper. He really is a beauty.

look at the details in the plumage its got the etched effect to it.

Gautham, An interesting bird. I think you focused on the most important part of the bird, the head with all its ornamentation. Great eyes and silky feather coating all over the body. Nice colors. Excellent picture.
