Hi all,
This was shot at Blijdrop zoo in Rotterdam , this flamingo was enjoying its bath and gave me lot of opportunities to shoot.
Flamingos are gregarious wading birds in the genus Phoenicopterus and family Phoenicopteridae. They are found in both the Western and Eastern Hemispheres, but are more numerous in the latter. There are four species in the Americas while two exist in the Old World.
I think this is "Greater Flamingo"! which is the most widespread species of the flamingo family. It is found in parts of Africa, southwest Asia (including Turkey), southern Asia (coastal regions of India) and southern Europe (including Spain, Cyprus, Portugal, and the Camargue region of France). Some populations are short distance migrants, and records north of the breeding range are relatively frequent; however, given the species' popularity in captivity whether these are truly wild individuals is a matter of some debate. A single bird was seen on North Keeling Island (Cocos (Keeling) Islands) in 1988.

A superb shot.

A beautiful capture of this flamingo while swimming. Usually we see these flamingos standing only in pictures and TV. This is a great shot with excellent details and composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Very good. Despite a hint of OE - you managed the overall exposure splendidly - great detail - you can even see the opaque protective lens over the eye - that they frequently use to shield the eyes, when they splash! Well done! Cheers, Klaus

Hi Goutham. It looks like you had a great time on your trip. The detail in the Flamingo and water droplets in excellent. good colours . it stands out so well against the dark back ground. well done TFs. good notes too.

Must have missed this one, I don't know how because this looks perfect. I like the nice details in the waterdrops. Very good focus, sharpness and good colours and light.
