Sunset Boulevard. No, this is not L.A.
Why 'such' an image..
In fact a while ago Alexei and Howard asked me what the MarkIII does in extreme conditions.
This one has been photographed in Safaripark Beekse Bergen. In fact it was almost closing time. The park in that month was open until 10 PM at Saturdays.
The sun was setting and for a few minutes the light was very colored and strong and of course low...
Look at the meta concerning time, ISO!, shutter speed, etc..
Quite noisy, isn't it. I blurred the background somewhat to get rid of the noise. Don't know if this was a good idea. Maybe 'beautiful' noise can add to the mood and atmosphere in specific cases?
The white balance? Don't know if there are options here...:-)
Anyway I decided to post it:-)

ID species?

Nice weekend!

Groetjes,
Paul

Hi Annick,
It may be because of White Balance:Cloudy. I use it always. I had read somehwere that using Cloudy (even in clear sunlight) boost colors. So do that. But that brings reddish shed to pictires. Most of the times, its not considerable. But in evening shot you can clearly pick it.
About this picture, well, very well captured. I liked the mood on its face. It's like this guy is happy with the day and looking at the sun with satisfied mind. Reddish touch brings the mood with it.I personally do not like noise, but agrre with your thought 'Maybe 'beautiful' noise can add to the mood and atmosphere in specific cases?"

WOW! Beautiful warm light. Excellent sharpness. A really delight for the eyes.
Thanks for shatring,

Annick,

This is excellent! I think it's very interesting that your picture has such a strong color tone overall yet you managed some very very good detail and sharpness on this animal.

I don't think I'd be able to do a shot as good as this if i were in such conditions.

Well done!
Steph

Quite outstanding. The performance is superb and you created a very moody wonderful atmosphere. No nits at all - just awe! Cheers, Klaus

Hi Annick,

I apologise for my long absence. The hectic pace of life leaves one little time for relaxation and hobbies.

I love the mood of this picture, and the warm colours one gets this late in the day. As far as the ID goes; this looks like a young Sable antelope bull.

Very well done.
Jan-Hendrik
