The Kwak as we call this bird in Holland, is the littlest bird of the heron family. it's uncommon in holland. you can only see it in a few places.
The english name is black-crowned night heron

I found this one when i was walking in the Artis Zoo in Amsterdam, where they are pretty free to go where ever they want to go. But most of them just stay at the zoo, where they've can find enough food.

This bird can be found all over the world except Antartica and Australie, and are very common in America.

It's a little bird in the heron-family, about 61 cm.
They spent most of their time in a tree. the normal call is Quak and are often given in flight.

This picture shows a juvenile bird. The adult has distinctive coloring, with black cap, upper back and scapulars; gray wings, rump and tail; and white to pale gray underparts. The bill is stout and black, and the eyes are red.

but low sharp details.
well done.

Beautiful pose. need a little more exposure or more light, but DOF is good. Well done!
