Hallo Mariki
Looks can really be deceiving. I am sure you are going to laugh cripple if I tell you what I thought I saw looking at the thumbnail. I thought I saw a pomegranate sliced open and photographed quite close.
On opening the photo to a bigger size I only realised what it actually was. Wonderful strawberry jam colour on the top of these mushrooms. Very clear details, presented in a fine manner. This colourful sight coming from between the dead leaves is really something else and I enjoyed the view. Thanks for sharing. Have a good weekend.
Kind regards
Anna

Bonjour Marie Christine,
It was great to find a fungi image in Your gallery. :) Wonderful trio, and You also did a great job - although I should have removed the leaves from the cap. Otherwise an excellent shot, congrats.
Let me help You with a little note update:
- it's true Amanita muscaria often grows under pines and birch, but which really needs to it, beside a tree, is acid substrate
- the connection You're talking about is called 'mycorrhiza'. It doesn't only "not damage the tree at all", it's helpful to the tree, and to the fungus also, because they both support each other with metabolism. Many species are mycorrhiza fungi, and for some only one given tree specie is acceptable (they're called "obligate mycorrhiza fungi"). Amanitas don't belong to the group of obligate mycorrhiza fungi, but they need a tree indeed (except for Amanita vittadinii, which is living saprobic life).
- Amanita muscaria is poisonous, its main (but not the only) toxic agent is 'ibotenic acid', which causes symptoms like intensive drunkenness, with - in most of the cases - pleasant hallucinations, which are, after a few hours followed by dazed sleeping. Very rarely causes death, but if so, in this section, due to respiration paralysis.
- Flies only become seemigly dead, after a few hours they fly away.
Tfs, and I'm glad if my infos are helpful in any way. Best regards from Hungary, László
