[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
During my visit to the Vennen (ponds in English) in Oisterwijk this was my first capture. It decided to set itself on a piece of wood along the border fo the pond. I took several shots to try and get rid of the low standing sun giving strong backlight.
There were many nice dragonflies but they were hard to catch.

I don't know the species of this one but searching on this site and comparing shots (from JHM) I think it is a Orthetrum cancellatum.

I think you have the ID right and it's a male, good shot Jan. The detail is very good and true colours. Well done.
