Hi Niek
It's been quite cold pretty much everywhere (and probably even colder with gas being cut, too :)) but nothing compares to the warmth that you feel inside when you take a good shot :)
And this is a lovely scene, taken very well by you.
I like the "all-white" look of mother nature here and also the scene that you have chosen, with this really old and thick oak tree near that roman catholic chapel as main subjects.
The warm morning sun adds a special atmosphere to the place and also creates bigger and more pronounced shadows that, in turn, create very nice textures across the entire frame.
Not to forget, the forest in the BG is also wonderful and fits perfectly, framing this oasis-like place.
Very nicely done!
Bravo and TFS

Hi Niek
A lovely composition and interesting note. SPme species of tree were more favoured for this role than others - especially oak and yew for their mystic qualities. Burials were also used - the idea being that the spirits of the dead would protect the boundaries.

Hello Niek !
Wow, what an awesome winter landscape - I wish we had something like that in France, but we have only the cold, without the beautiful frost on the trees. I love composition of this picture very much, as well as the winter colors of blue and white, the sunny light, and the POV. Must have been really delightful to stand there in this beautiful place.
Very well done !
Valerie.

HI Niek,
This image is perfectly exposed with wonderful details in the snow. I like very much the low angled light falling across the snow and tree tops. The curve of the path is especially nice. The dark fence posts and tree trunks are very effective accents in this white and blue scene. Beautiful work.

Hello Niek
tonalities are very soft and are a lot interesting the way in which the brown plants contrast with white ice that has been formed on the froozen trees. Optimal game of lights and shadows with a soft color sky and beautiful details.

It has a feeling of warm cocoa or perhaps something else...a bit of a nip for the nip if you know what I mean...Loving it that you can get this now...I hope all is well with Ivan and Ulla as well.

Hi Niek!
It's a very seasonal picture. The whole Europe is covered with frost, snow and ice. I like the compsoition with the path leading through the picture very much. It also leads us to the magnificent trees. The whole ambience is cold and delicate at the same time. It's a fine winter scenery, very pleasant to look at.
Kind regards
Markus

Hy Niek
I will say: a perfect winter landcape in the morning sun.I always found the ice that covered everything magnificent, even not long lasting.I am glad that most of the Europe shared this white blanket of snow and cold, not so common in countries like Netherlands.
So, TFS
Groetjes, Oana

Goedemorgen Niek,

A very well composed image of a scene that looks straight out of a movie. Excellent exposure and detail, well done my friend, it seems you have been 'enjoying' the cold weather of late too!

Hello Niek,
The lighting, perspective and composition are superb in this wintery Overijssel scene. Despite the visible effects of what we do to the landscape, the fences, the pruning of branches on the large oak tree, the grazing of our animals, the religious building, the dominating feeling is still nature!
I thank you for that!
Best regards,
Ivan

Hello Niek,
It's amazing to see the kind of weather you're experiencing in Holland. Here up the north it's about 4 degrees above freezing every day, rather grey and dull! But you certainly have better weather for photography! This is really wonderful; a crispy white winter landscape bathing in sunshine! I like your composition very much!
Many thanks and cheers, Ulla

Hallo Niek,
Deze omgeving ken ik en heb die boom ook alleen niet met mooi licht.
Ga wel eens in Twente fietsen en kom dan ook bij Fleringen, het kasteel en watermolen.
Mooi landschapsplaatje en goede compositie.

Really nice, Niek. Nice subject, and a good job with the exposure in the bright snow. Realy nice low light. What I really like about the compo, though, is the curved lead line leading the eye to the little building.

Hi Niek,
The curve of the road covered with snow is an asset to the composition. The trees are framing well the chapel. The point of view leads our eyes toward the chapel and toward the trees in the background which is giving a sense of depth to the photo. The reflection of the light on the snow is enhancing the colors of the scenery. Have a nice day.
Pierre
