3 years is quite a long period of time already and the fact that you are still actively contributing here in this community says a lot about the type of person you really are. We are all grateful to have known you here and hope that we will all be here to celebrate many other TN-days together :)

This is indeed your type of a shot - solitude trees in low light are pretty much you (and maybe Emma's) signature.
This one here looks really beautiful and the setting it is in is equally gorgeous. All the tones in the sky are superb and the small clouds here and there break the simplicity of a clear sky.
The details in the FG are also very subtle and add a lot to the overall composition.
Very beautiful work, my friend! I hope to see many more photos from you in the many years spent from now on here on TN :)

May be is a lonely tree, but it transmits so much.
I enjoy a lot the majesty of its branches, its perfect forms and distribution.
It's so delicate the effect of the low light and all those subtle tones in the foreground and back at the sky.

I've learnt a lot for your dedication to landscapes and the special thing you put in each of your presentations.

A fine landscape composition to celebrate three years - not just you but another mate too...each tree rather most trees grow every year and it also needs the right environment to thrive ...the elements of the earth has to show up -right one at the right time....your capture is quite symbolic..
The compsoiton itself is beautiful...i love the lighting and the tones ...the PoV showing the sun deep in the horizon has a romantic quality..

Hi Niek,
Congrats on reaching the 3 year milestone.
You've contributed some excellent work to TN and we hope to see a lot more.
This old tree looks as though it is sunk into the ground.
Has it grown in a hollow or has the ground been built up around it.
I've seen this sort of thing but am never sure what has happened. (Perhaps sheep have been sheltering under it and caused erosion ?
The pic looks great anyway with very nice light.

You show the wonderful silhouette of "your" solitary tree again in a wonderful evening light, taken a few minutes after your previous shot. The red colors are a little stronger, the point of view a little changed. This also is an outstanding shot. And my Congratulations for your three years presence. You have a very beautiful portfolio.

Hallo Niek,

Gefeliciteerd met de 3 jaar TN. Ik zie dat er nog geen reactie van Evelynn is binnen gekomen. Volgens mij kan je er op wachten. Maar dat mag en er is niets mee. Ik vind de donkere voorgrond zo omhoog schuivend naar de lichtere achtergrond er gewoon bij dit soort foto's bij hoort. Je kan goed onderscheiden wat er op de voorgrond aanwezig is. De boom komt hierdoor nagenoeg in een B&W conditie en dat is nu net de bedoeling neem ik aan. De subtiele rose luchtstrepen maken deze plaat wonderschoon.

thanks for the reminder, has it really been that long already? It's a lovely coincidence that we started here on the same day as each other, and to see how far we have both progressed. Thank you for all you constructive comments and advice my friend.
You celebrate with a classic 'Bouwen' style shot. Excellent clarity, colours and of course composition. Is that a little bird sitting in the branches on the lft hand side? Nature at it's elemental best here, very well done, hope there's many more years to come and one day we get to meet and share a few days shooting.

Three years on TN - wow a great anniversary ! I went here just two months after you, and I have loved your pictures ever since, and I have also appreciated your interesting notes, tour nice comments. You're a great photographer and an important part of TN - it wouldnot be the same, without you. I hope there will be many more years. As for the picture, it is wondeful. The silhouette of this big majestic tree stands out wondeffully on the sky with lovely colors. Very well done !
