Black plumage and yellow bill identify adult male. First year males have more brown in plumage and brownish bill. Female is more variable, with brown plumage and mottled breast and bill brown (or orange in older birds). So this exemplar is a female.

Nice first post Viviane though she seems slightly out of focus but I do like the pose.

Hi Viviane, welcome to TN , intresting first post, my best guess is that it is a 1st year fledgling going by the flecking on the sholders.
good set up on the shot with the bird eyeing you up, but i feel the F2.8 gives a bit too shallow DOF, I fing that if you are working digitally you can loose abit of speed for a better F number, hand holding down to 1/50sec seems possible.

Viviane
Nice Blackbird, I am glad I could see them, big difference between the sexes. From the jist of this one, I would venture that it is a juvenile. Look at the primaries, they are not fully grown. I like the over the shoulder look.

Bonne composition.

Un bien joli cliché.
Ce jeune merle est bien sympathique.
Bien vu.

Viviane - nice to see you here too. I'm not too good at nature shots, but I am going to try.
This is lovely of the bird standing on wooden posts with all that luscious greenery around her. She looks a little pale though?

I tried a workshop.
