[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I've decided to spend some time on TN and post a new photo. Well it's a relatively new photo. I haven't touched my camera for more then 4 weeks.

I took this photo on one the few days of snow we had this winter. The rest of the winter has been gray and rainy. This is also one of my first tests with my new lens.

There isn't much to write about the natural value of this photo. It's just a blue sky two oak trees and snow. It appealed to my eyes and I hope it will do to yours as well.

Hi Niek.
Nice decision. I welcome it as well as this clear and wonderful landscape picture. Razor sharpness of the image, fine rich cold colours and terrific transparency of the shot. Well done and kind regards.
Alexei.

Well seen and adroitly captured view, Niek.
Your landscape pictures are invariably artistic.
The two trees standing tall against the blue sky and that thin layer of snow on the ground make it a really marvellous composition.
It is good that you have returned to TN after a hiatus of few days.
Welcome back and TFS.
Ram

Hi Niek,
Glad you decided to post something again.
Even when its grey and snowy,I'm sure you can find things to photograph, even if its just icicles or bubbles in the ice.
Sometimes, insects frozen in puddles make good shots too.
It must be getting towards spring over there soon ... its getting a bit colder here now, although it will be a few weeks I think before we get frosts.
Still,a few good fungi are beginning to appear,as you can see from my latest posts.
Cheers & TFS,
Steve

It is fine Niek. I was both surprised and happy to see your name as posted....and yes I too have been down to the end of the larder when it comes to images..but snow? Yes we have certainly had our share. At least on this day you had ample opportunity. Sometimes pictures accompanied by words, can pass along feelings in toto! You are quite good at that my friend! Thanks much for posting and sharing.
Bob

Hi Niek,
this is a fine winter landscape even if I prefer more spring at the time ;-)
The picture is well composed with the trees out of the centre,
and it's well exposed with lovely natural colours.
Congrats to your new lens, it's a great one. Did you managed to attached to the head?
Well done, mf
Gert

hi,
very fine image of these beautiful trees in winter which would have looked good even in horizontal composition.

Hi Niek!

It's such a pleasure to see you posting again. NINA is back, you are back and the spring is here. I enjoy these good moments to the full.

I also like your picture very much. As you say, it's simple, but I there's much more in it as you say. It's not just a blue sky, an oak and snow. This is pretty much, and so valuable. Moreover, it's well put on stage and so pleasant to look at.

I hope that your new lens will provide us many beauties like this one.

Kind regards

Markus

Hallo Niek,

Groet,
Peter

hallo Niek
super compositie
mooi licht en goed van scherpte
groetjes lou

Hy Niek
Maybe you are right saying that is not too much to write about this picture. Only regarding the short period of snow, uncommon and rare in this part of Europe. The sky is so blear and it seems frozen. The two lonely oaks covered by snow are standing and probably asking what is happening; probably in their long live they met more often this kind of weather. And the long shadows add some more beautifulness to this imagine. In all, it is simple, blue and cold!
All the best, Oana

Hello Niek
even if the winter is cold the nature always succeeds to amaze to us. Beautiful composition for details and colors with great contrasts in this winter landscape.

Hi Niek,
thanks for your critique on my last photo, it's good to see you're still around! Seems you're as busy as i am these days. I'm sorry i didn't see this one earlier.
Well composed as always and the exposure and detail in the snow is great. I like the long shadows that fill the FG and the crisp, clear quality of the shot. Hope to see some more from you soon, there's too few serious landscapers here on TN these days, you are sorely missed.
Paul

Nice straightoward image, Niek. Sometime the beauty is in the simplicity. That seems to be what I like msot about this shot.

Hi Niek,
the naked trees alwayas look exciting with patterns and style. the softness of the blue sky is pleasant and you have composed the graphic to enhance the shot, the added lines and shadow on the foreground snow.
well thought composition.

Foozi
