[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A little break from my Travelogue. This is probably the best waterway to capture the perfect reflection. The water is very slow moving and completely covered by Beech trees. Although it was a pretty windy evening, there was no movement at all in the many fresh leaves. It allowed for a completely still 13 second exposure.

The lack of wind also had a disadvantage. I got stung by mosquitoes so many times that some of them decided to sting me again on the same spot. Life of a amateur photographer isn't always fun.

Hi niek,

what an extraodrinary reflection, its hard to see where the reflection meets the real thing as it merges together like some sort of optical illusion.

Looks like you were stood in the water from this shot, but its worth getting wet every time when you get the shot that your after.

Cheers

Ewan

Hello Niek,
After these beetles, moths, butterflies, flies and other insects to look at such green, calm landscape is very pleasantly. Reflections in water you used for this excellent composition perfectly.
Best regards, Pawel

Hi Niek!

Just amazing! 13 second exposure - I don't remember day without wind from early spring. Reflection is perfect indeed. Great composition with sky reflected in water and not overexposured at all. Lots of green leaves and interesting POV made this photo unique. Great job.

Another splendid composition from you, my friend!
Indeed the feel is very tranquil here and the perfect stillness everywhere makes me want to whisper.
I like the attention you gave the reflection here. It's gorgeous and at fist glance i actually had trouble distinguishing the real leaves from their reflection :)
As i initially said, i love the composition, with the brighter area slightly off-centered but still attracting a lot of attention as the eye goes up towards it.
Very beautiful in every way!

Bravo and TFS

My first reaction was of course... where in Oregon did he take that?? That certainly was a STILL day!... awfully sharp for a 13 second exposure of leaves! I was pushing 1/1000 fighting the wind at Rainier Monday. This demonstrates your love of precision. It is beautifully executed. The depth in the composition is wonderful. I agree with Horia's assessment. Lovely work.

Hi Niek

An excellent shot - I really like the division of the frame here. The detail is excellent and I like the cool colours too.

Hi Niek,
13 seconds?? Wow, that MUST have been still, a rare thing you caught here! Lovely POV (i take it you were on a bridge?) and just the right amount of reflection, keeping enough of the 'real' trees to retain a sense of actual landscape...very fine work.

Hello Niek
I've looked into your gallery and I've found this picture. It is amazing. It is so still and the exposure was so long! Composition and colours are also perfect.
Congratulations
Ania

Hi Niek
I had to look twice to see what you captured here. It's almost like an optical illusion, but I like it. The stream is just like a mirror, so still and serene. And poor you getting bit by mosquitoes...but by the way this turned out, it was worth it. Well done.

Hello Niek !
I have always liked pictures with a reflection on the water, and here the reflection is so perfect it looks like a mirror - I bet if you had turned the picture upside down, nobody would have noticed. I really love the composition, leaving more space for the reflection than for the real tree. I also like the very natural colors, and the nice details all over. Sorry to hear the mosquitoes have been trying to eat you up, but the picture was worth the effort, I guess ! :-) Very well done !
Valérie.
