Great shot, Jaap. I think I will do the same as you did here for some next posts. Paul gave and I hope will continue to give us good advices and informations. He "preached by example and his influence will always be kept on TN.

Hello Jaap,

Tja, this is like a statue, so hugh. I have never seen one so big. I specially like the gold and dark red.
But... I can tell you a litle trick. You are using often the neatfiltering. Nice but you loose details.
When you, after filtering sharpen it again the picture gets better.
(I tried it with yours but don't dare to post. I can't take the risk).

Wow ! What a superb macro for Paul ;-) I appreciate the pose of the insect on the nice flowers. The textures on the hoverfly are beautiful. Pov, DOF, colors and sharpness are very good. Congratulations Jaap and TFS.

Les teintes ici sont tres belles j'apprecie moins la PDF trop importante a mes yeux. Je pense que la mise au point doit etre correct dans votre format original mais ici la compression pixellise un peut votre sujet.
Bravo Quand meme pour l'approche pas toujours facile.

Wel Jaap, en dit zonder statief, het is opnieuw een uitzonderlijke mooie macro, hier moet ik nog veel leren, maar hier heb ik begrepen wat u mij heeft gemeld, en het is inderdaad schitterend. En steeds een grote tekst om iedereen duidelijk te maken dat een van deze insecten zeer nuttig kunnen zijn. Laat de scholen hier maar eens naar kijken, prachtig didacties materiaal.

HI Jaap, a good tribute to Paul - a hoverfly and not a bee. He taught me the difference as I had NEVER heard of hoverflies before he pointed it out to me.
This is a good composition, the colours are great and the details are so nice and sharp. A very good macro, thank you for sharing and well done.
