Swans on Veluwemeer.

Photo is scanned from an old dia, and processed in PhotoShop (contrast).

Didn't make the photo sharper with PS, because I like the softness of this photo.

Hello Jan Arie,
I find this picture to be wonderful
The soft focus adds to the picture.
Backgroud is good - they look as if they are floating in the skies ;-)

And one last thing - how did you convince them to pose for you in such a beautiful way ?!?!

TFS - Shir

Ah Jan, this is wonderful - full of wonder. The softness of the photo is so artistic, their positions so well orchestrated too. As Shir asks, how did you get them to pose that way??:) You must be very happy with this photo. VERY, VERY WELL DONE. Thankyou...

Your composition is unusual and beautiful ! The position of swans on calm water is nice, reflection is a bonus. Progressif DOF works well. Sharpness is bit soft but not a problem here. Thanks for sharing Jan Arie.

Hi Jan-Arie

I agree. The softness of the image is lovely. Nice poses, well composed and very well scanned. Nice tranquil shot. TFS.

Hi Jan, this is a lovely image indeed. I understand why you like the softness of the photo, I do too. It is a bit noisy though and you can get rid of that easily given that you like the softness. I've done a workshop to show you. I would have included the reflection of the foremost swan but that is a minor nit. Otherwise...what can I say? Wonderful :) The positioning of the swans, the beautiful colours, fantastic exposure and peaceful composition are all exemplary. Great job, TFS :)

Hello Jan Arie,

I aswell like the softness of the photo, but I also would have liked to see how it looked liked if you sharpened it. ;) The composition is great and the exposure is very good (always difficult on these white birds). TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Lovely photo - wonderful posistioning - would have like to see the head in the reflection of the lowest swan, but can't always have everything.
