Nicely done, excellent details.
What did you use for flash, the camera's or mounted, if mounted, a diffusion would have helped.

I missed you, sometimes I looked at TE - but I also missed your wonderful close-up shots.
Congratulations, your new camera and lens are working excellent. This hoverfly is phantastic.
I hope you are also satisfied with this combination. With the flash you can use high exposure for good DOF, my favourite adjustment is 16/200, it's universal :-)
Thank you very much for this sunny shot, some warm feelings in the cold winter.

Goedenmorgen Jaap,
Wij hebben er lang moeten op wachten maar hij is opnieuw zeer mooi, maar ik zou eens proberen zonder flash, met uw toestel moet ditkunnen Jaap, want die lens is zo krachtig dat ik niet zo gemakkelijk is om er mee te werken, maar uw werk is mooi, morgen zal ik samen met Hendrik een reportage maken met zijn 350D, zal eens mijn lenzen uit bij hem uitproberen.

Episyrphus balteatus on a yellow flower is indeed a classic. This is a nice shot but I would prefer a composition that gave the fly a little more room to look into and less at space at the rear. I also think the focus is a wee bit soft on the fly's head.

Jaap, excellent capture of the hover fly. One of the first things I learnt on TN was that there were hoverflies, and that the bees I saw weren't always bees but hoverflies!!
I have learnt so much from TN - about nature and photography. And even today from reading your notes I have learnt more about the H'flies - thank you Jaap, for your teachings too.
