[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A butterfly shot in the Berkenhof. I am not sure of the ID but I think it is a Lexias Dirtea. This is the closest I could find in my butterfly book. From what I found on the internet this is a male as the female doesn't have the lighter back part of the wings.

It lives in India, Pakistan, Birma, Malaysia and Indonesia. It lives in the jungle but can be seen along roads and at the border of the woods. The males like to drink from rotten pineapple.

PP: Levels, saturation, USM and a little crop.

What a nice butterfly, how can you get a picture like this one without disturbing him?

Excellent shot, Jan. Exceptional DOF with those antennae all in. The black were handled to perfection. Well done.

Nice buterfly, very clear shot, more considering the dark colour of the subject. Good DOF, nice photo.

Jan, Great looking speciman captured very well! Like this great mix of colors with the gold dabs on the dark brown an interesting look. Great DOF through-out with just the rear right tip falling out just a bit. Excellent Capture!

Another pleasant presentation with a showy butterfly of beautiful colors and contrasts.
Good sharpness with adequate frame.
Personally it does not please to me the bottom on which one is, but not always is available other.
I agree with the explanation that you have given Midi, but in opened environment, also in those hours is at least butterflies can be find.
