[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Description: We are surrounded by much nature as we live along the dunes along the Noordzee coast of Holland. One of those protected areas nearby is called "Mildenburg", one of the best with lots of protected special plants and wildlife. Sorry, I don't know the name, I've never seen this one before.

Technical aspects: nothing special but I looked for the best side. I did remove a few disturbing twigs and leaves without doing any damage (afterwards I did put them back where they were)

Postprocessing: PhotoShop, cropped to get a good focus, finaly some L, CB and a bit USM and a small border.

Conditions: slightly cloudy day, in de shade, 16:30h

My Goal: Capture the welthy growth of this mushroom and the soft colortones.

A good first post Richard. You've captured the soft tones well here and have kept good clarity and depth of field.
I can't give you a definite ID, but it looks like a type of ear fungus like Auricularia. However, it could also be a type of jelly fungus like Tremella.
I'll get a second opinion on this one.Perhaps Paul (PDP) or Felipe (extramundi) may know.
Good work though. Look forward to seeing more from you.

It is photos like this that can get you an unexpected award ! Welcome to TN ! Lots of fans and funs of funghi here !

Welcome to TN!
A very nice shot to star with, specially for us the fungi lovers. I agree with Steve this is a Tremella, I would say a Tremella foliacea.
The shot is very beautiful, with very good detail, and nice warm colours. Maybe a bit less of yellow saturation would give more contrast.
Thanks for sharing, hope to see moe photos and critiques soon.

Beautiful colors and composition.

I love the snail trails all over the fungus and the bark.
