Very nice chaser my friend. POV is really good, colours and details also. DOF is ok. Composition - maybe too much space at bottom part of picture? I agree with your note - it is very hard to make photos with dSLR after long time with comfortable lcd in compact.

Nice capture.
Very good detail, color, BG, and exposure. Great DOF and an interesting POV as well.
I would compose anything that flies, with more space in front, and less behind as a rule..But this is subjective and flexible of course :)

this is a very good close-up shot.
The wings and body are sharp, pity thats the head is not within the DOF. Well composed, good exposure and nice POV.
You will soon handle the DSLR great as you did with your old finepix.

Hello Jaap,
Very good shot! The quality is very good and picture is very sharp. Picture has very good colours too. I just think I don't like the POV entirely because the dragonly looks as if it's wings were of different sizes. I think the POV somehow doesn't work too good.
Overall, it's a very good post.

Isn't this exactly the species I shot for the first time and posted here yesterday? The only difference I see is in the colours of the spots on the wingtips; in case of your image here, they are black whereas mine had golden/yellow ones.
Anyway, your image here is absolutely beautiful. Perspective, DOF, details and colours are simply amazing.

Wow, great photo! Near perfect DOF with most of the insect in focus, except for the wing tips, but a lovely blurred background. Sharp details as well.
