Gomphus vulgatissimus female on Juniperus communis / Beekrombout vrouwtje op Jeneverbesstruik / Club-tailed Dragonfly female on Common Juniper / Gemeine Keiljungfer weibchen auf Gemeiner Wacholder / Le Gomphus très commun femelle sur Genévrier commun.
The Club-tailed Dragonfly is found on large slow-flowing rivers. The adult flight period extends from 30 April to 26 July.
KEY IDENTIFICATION FEATURES:
-a medium sized species with club-shaped abdomen.
-males black with extensive yellow markings on thorax and abdomen which turn green when mature.
-females black with extensive yellow markings.
