Both the butterfly and the flower combine very well! Perfect light, color, details and background. A colorful and harmonized composition. I can see that experiment word is not the title: this a final state of test!

Hoi Jaap,
Wat een slecht weer hebben we de laatste paar dagen he? Alles nog droog bij jullie? Wat ik bijzonder vind om te zien is dat je F/29 hebt voor je diafragma, maar dat je toch een erg ondiepe scherpte diepte heb. Komt dit door de close up lens? Het past wel perfect bij deze foto, want de volle focus is op de vlinder. De kleuren en het licht komen wel erg mooi uit in deze foto en de scherpte is super.

Hi Jaap,
it's a nice composition and good POV.
I like the colours too. But Jaap do not use 800 ISO on close-ups, even if the noise in under control you will miss alot of the fine details and F29 is not good either because a lens is not sharp above F16, thats my opinion.

I agree with Claudine, I have tried to photograph Butterflies but have never managed to find one that sat still long enough. It's a lovely shot, good detail and lovely framing, great DOF and beautiful colours. A lovely shot.

Ik heb beiden meermaals goed bekeken en uw WS spreekt mij het meest aan, maar ik geef toe het zijn beiden juweeltjes, het is wel een van die kleine donzige vlinders maar in beeld is het werkelijk mooi, ja zelf mooier dan in de natuur, vrijdag zal ik hier een vraag over stellen.

This is a very beauiful picture of a female Common Blue, usually we see more potos of blue males but it's nice to see a female also. I really like the composition here, with the butterfly sitting on a yellow flower. Excellent colors, details, POV and DOF. Very well done !
