[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We went out to the woods in national park Veluwezoom near Rheden, looking for colours and signs of autumn.

I saw this nice looking bunch on a log; had to crawl up the steep hill to get there. My pants all wet and muddy.

I tried to figure out the name, but was not very succesful. I hope one of you can tell me what it's called.

I like the composition, where you make well use of the decomposing tree trunk to create a fine diagonal!

Hey Frank,
I think it might be an Oudemansiella Mucida or Porseleinzwam. They are grayish brown when they are young, but turn a shiney porcelainwhite when they are maturing. They are a little slimey (hence the glistening) and live on dead treetrunks.

You often see them in the fall. They are called after the Dutch mycologist Oudemans. They're edible, but not very tasteful.

Een erg mooie exemplaar, en ook erg mooi gefotografeerd. Misschien had de scherpte iets meer op de paddestoel moeten liggen dan op de stap.
