| Taken at dawn (10.30 am) in the arctic circle, here in Tysfjord the Orca's shelter from the winter and eat the herrings which they follow from sea to Fjord throughout the year. image is out of focus but it was so cold (-25C without windchill) and i had to have a hand warmer to keep the camera battery working. |

Hello Vickie,
This must have been quite an experience. Nice light and good DOF to include the mountains in the background. Good framing too, a nice shot.
It would be nice if you could provide critiques for other people as well as posting images, it's the only way the site will work if everybody pitches in.
Regards,
Adrian
This is a rare moment, but you could capture it pretty well. The snow mountains on the background make the picture more dramatics. The image contrast, focus and brightness is a bit under, but I guess it still ok
Nice presentation, I'm just wondering is it more than one orcas there? because ussually the move in group
Never mind the battery; I'd have to have a body warmer to keep my body working! To spot an orca in such a setting is special. I love the light on the mountains. I've boated next to orcas in the summer, but in the cold is another matter. Nice capture.

Well done Vickie, it's a well composed shot, with a great background with those pink mountains. Good light too, thanks.
