Windy Mountain
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| In february there were several weeks of sunshine and blue skies here in Northern Norway. But there was also a fierce wind blowing in the mountains, creating snowstorms on the mountaintops. I shot this picture during a sunrise one morning. I liked the detail where the sun shines up the mist of blowing snow. You can actually see the curve of the windlayer on the cloud above the mountaintop. Below the cloud is heavy turbulence, and above it "just" a strong wind. This is a sign used by many aviators flying in the mountains up here. |

Hello Tornbjorn,
ANother great work from you! Very strong and contrasting composition. Excellent light - the sun behind mountain creates a powerful atmosphere on that shot.
Best greetings,
Michal

Hello Torbjorn,
A very special picture, a sort of symphony in blue. Beautiful how the rising sun draws the horizon and illuminates the snow dispersed by the wind.Thank's and
best regards
Anne
Hi Torbjorn,
This is a really neat photo. The way the sun shines against the blowing snow and the curve of the clouds is just wonderful. I like the overall blue tone of the photo since it reflects the cold temperatures perfectly. The clean composition is perfect.

Niek

Hi Torbjorn!
I'm so glad to discover your pictures. Thanks to the fact you visited mine I had a look at yours. And believe me, I will come back often! I'm impressed by the quality of your pictures that evoke a lot of emotions in me.
Your windy mountain is just beautiful. Some little and tiny clouds are enough to underline the power of the invisible wind. It's a very simple, hence very pleasant picture in a perfect composition and lighting.
Well seen, well done!
Kind regards
Markus
