[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is a shot from Bardufoss, Troms. You can see that the trees are well dressed in their autumn best. In the distance you can see the already snow-covered mountains and snow/slush showers. In a week or so the trees will have lost their leaves - so the photo window isnt very long if you want to capture those bright colours. I find it difficult with these light settings - either the snow is too bright or the foreground too dark - I guess Ill just have to get me one of those grad filters..!

PP: Exposure for foreground, saturation of foreground, adjusting levels and a little burning of the clouds. USM

Hi Torbjorn,
I think the differences in light/dark in this picture works out well here. In difficult situations you could try to play with filters in a photoshopkinda program, by selecting certain parts of the picture. This image really speakes to the imagination (at leasty it does for me as I did field work couple of years ago at this time of the year near Bardufoss)

I like this scenery very much! This lighting and POV are really good as well as the details and DOF. I think that Norway has quite the same climate than here in Quebec. This is very beautiful, thanks!

Hi Torbjorn,
I love the composition and the scenery, But, I can see the PP work too much. There is a clear edge along the top of the trees. I understand that you tried two get better exposure in the FG, but why don't you convert to different version of this photo from RAW. One with the correct exposure for the sky part and one for the ground part. Merge both and use the masking option.
Besides that, a beautiful photo.

Hello Torbjorn,
Upon reading your accompanying note, I must say that you have done very well here. While the use grad neutral density filters helps a lot in situations like this, it is a hassle, and I think you can do the same by exposing for fore- and background separately and then stitching the properly exposed portions of the two shots in PP.
