[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a photo I originally decided not to post. Im not sure why - I think maybe it is the landscape genes in me that said that there wasn`t any spectacular mountains in the background. It was just simple. But after a while I thought - well I kind of like it anyway - especially the contrast between the leaves and the sky. I thougt that it is nice just on its own - with no distractions, so I decided to post it anyway.
Post processing was very little - just USM. The rest was a success(?) due to the polarizing filter. It is a must have for autumn photos, at least in my view.

Hi Torbjorn,
Very nice light reflecting on the leaves of the tree. I just would have placed the tree a lttle more on the right side.

I fully agree with you. The contrast is very nice indeed. Beautiful golden-like leafes very nice contrasting against the dark blue sky. Simole but good composition, perhaps is Anne's suggestion of placing the tree somewhat out of the centre a good idea. I think that the picture would be stronger if you do so.

Yes you have a nice contrast between the leaves and the sky and I do agree that a polarizing filter is a must with landscape picture, helps bring vivid colours to life.

Hi Torbjorn,

You have some lovely autumn colours over in Norway already! I really like this shot - I am a big fan of simple effective shots and this is just one of those - the composition is very simple but for that it works better, and draws the attention directly to the best part, the beautiful colours contrasting so well with the deep polarised sky. Great spot!

Only minor thoughts -

1) I may have tried to crop out the bottom, just above the sticking out branch as the lowest part is slightly out of focus? But then I quite like the balance... not sure!

2) Possibly as a result of the USM, there are some slight bands of blue in the bottom right corner - not sure how to get round this one or what causes it? I find that happens to my images with blue skies especially - quite infuriating!

Those minor points aside, I still love it!

This is a very nice image of autumn!
A simple but very effective composition, with a great colour combination and the backlight really makes the leaves stand out!
