Hardanger

This is an image from the beautiful fjord area of Hardanger in western Norway. It was a summer night and the sun was setting. It created a spectacular colour mix on the sky, as it often does during the summer months. The picture is taken from the east side of the hardanger fjord, looking across the fjord to the mountains on the west side, where you see the sunlight behind the mountains. The picture is not spectacular in itself, but I thought the warm colours were very nice to look at. I also like the small cloud in the upper part, which is lit up by the setting sun. I also thought it was time for a summer picture after a cpoule of autumn postings lately :)
Post processing: Adjusting levels (the dark part of them)to remove a little washed out look. Also a tiny little adjustment of curves, this also only for controlling the dark portion of the colours (adjusting the upper portion of the curve line). No sharpening because I wasn`t able to do so without making an ugly join between the black mountain and the bright sunset. (What I should have done in the first place was to bring a tripod...) |

Well done and TFS
Hi, yet again more fantastic sunset colours, you really are blessed with some beautiful skies and views in your country!
It's a lovely photo, simple composition but that's perfect for such a scene in my opinion!
Nice colour tweaking in PS too - good work :-)

What a wonderful picture. I can just see a giant version of it on the corner of one of those winding staircases as you come down. the colours are beauctilful and you have shown nature off really well.
