[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a digging wasp, Mellinus arvensis. I found it by chance; I was about to photograph some water flowers when I had to get back on land because of flat batteries. And right where I stepped on land where these holes in the ground. Pretty soon I noticed the wasps. So the next day I returned with a fully charged camera!

These wasps drag flies into holes in the ground. This will be food for the larvies. They are very shy, so this one in particular is waiting for me (and my camera) to get lost.

The photo is just cropped for composition, and resized for web.

Bienvenue sur TN, très belle macro pour débuter Tordur. J,aime l'effet de flous de l'Avant plan. L,anetteté de l'image est bonne, ainsi que les variations de couleurs du sable. j'ai hâte de voir la prochaine image. Bye

Welcom on TN Tordur.

Very good and rare first post - actually I don't thik that I have ever seen a post wjith a digging wasp comming out of its nest before, congratulations. I like the composition and the colours look very natural. You have handled the light in a very clever way too. Only nitcould be that the focus is a little beside the wasp (more in the centre of the picture but not so much that it disturbs). - An interesting post so keep them comming;-).
