Hi Niek,
It is an interesting zig zag pattern that you chose for your composition. The exposure looks perfect. It is a well thought out and executed photo.

Hi Niek
Great shot of this 'alpine' or wet-base glacier. I like the diagonal elemrnt here. You can see that this glacier is in rapid retreat from the colour of the rocks - lichen covers those where the glacier retreted some time ago - the lighter grey show where it retreted recently and the lichen has not colonised.

Hi again my friend
This too is a very nice shot and a good addition to your Norway saga.
As Evelynn mentioned, the zig-zag composition here with the ice and the rocks works very well and creates a very nice 3D effect in the scene. Even though you shot with at the telephoto end of your zoom range, it still preserves enough perspective to give us a feel of how it actually is there.
The tones and colors here reflect the atmosphere well, too.
Lovely work here as well!
Bravo and TFS

Hi Niek
Once again it is clear from this shot that you don't just pick up your camera and start shooting away. Planning, thinking and the educated / experienced use of your equipment is evident from this magnificent composition. This is underlined by the use of various tri-angles plus the utilisation of the glacier, as the leading interest, into the composition and the continuance of that interest all the way throughout the image (or as Evelynn called it the zigzag pattern). Another consideration is the outstanding management of the exposure to ensure even lighting and excellent contrast between the dark rocks and the bright snow (i.e. no OE or UE). Maybe the only aspect I am missing in this shot is something to give scale and perspective to the scenery. Perhaps someone in a red sweater standing somewhere on the blue snow (chuckle). No, I have read your mention of the danger aspect so I'm only pulling your leg.
Well done MF and TFS.
Regards
Loot
PS. By the way (or as you perhaps already know), we will be leaving early tomorrow morning for our holiday. Of course we are going to the Kruger Park…where else? Take care and see you in 2½ weeks.

The great thing about this shot is the way my eye naturally 'tumbles' down the frame with ice flow...a clever and effective piece also.

Hi Niek,
Interesting layers and textures in this almost abstract shot, good details and composition, nice shot!

While we work hard to give effects in our pictures (well, a lot of people) nature laughs in its beard because this is a beautiful picture, Niek, natural yet suprising and intriguing. At first I thought you had unsaturated the picture leaving only the aqua ice... to realize this is what it is like. Thank you, a beautiful sight,
Francine

Ha Niek,
Mooie detailopname van de Kjenndal. Fraaie natuurlijke kleuren.
Was hier vorige zomer ook nog en heb daar toch ook mooie platen kunnen maken.
Prachtige rustige omgeving.

Hi Niek
Glaciers have always fascinated me and I love to see the wonderful blues of the ice. I love the way you can see both the ice and the scarred rock below. Beautifully composed and a perfect exposure on the ice

hello Niek,
Yes Nick, you are right to take care in such a surrounding. But anyway you took a superb and fine picture of this ice-structures, like waves. I also appreciate the fine grey, blue and white colours which balance each other in an optimal way. I would also like to thank you very much for your appreciation of my latest picture.
Bonne journée et un grand merci

Heel mooie kleuren, Niek.
Groeten
Bob
