[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Impressive mountain sceneries is what you see if you are on Vikafjell Mountain in Norway.
Om most of the mountain plateaus in Norway you will find no trees. Vegetation is limited to grasses, moss and little bushes. This is remarkable because most of the plateaus are situated much lower than for example the Alps. The reason for this is the higher degree of latitude, on a level of 750-800 meters above sea-level you are already on the tree-line.
This is a picture of Vikafjell in Norway, a small mountain plateau but with impressive mountain sceneries. You will pass the "fjell" (mountain) when you travel from Bergen or Voss upwards to Skei or Stryn.
On this day we were very unlucky with the weather beacause most of the day it was raining heavily. In spite of the rain on this particular spot nature was so beautiful that I had to photograph this landscape. The dark sky and the rain breathes a very special atmosphere here.

Well, rain is a part of trekking the mountains!
Even if the summer of 2006 was blessed with a lot of sunshine you obviously were there on one of the few rainy days...
Interesting composition with the old summer farms, strong atmosphere is conveyed!

Inderdaad heel indrukwekkend. Zo zie je maar weer hoe klein we eigenlijk zijn. Het weer ziet er niet zo goed uit, maar het groene gras geeft gelukkig heel wat kleur aan het geheel.

Hoi Ruud,
Wat een prachtige foto. De hutjes op de rand van de berg zien er erg klein uit, een indicatie hoe groot dit gebied is. De combinatie van het donker groene gras en de donkere lucht geeft de foto een erg mooie sfeer. Iets meer voorgrond had deze foto wel wat sterker gemaakt.

Hoi Ruud, goed om te zien dat je nog steeds aparte omgevingen uit Noorwegen hier deelt.
Inmiddels heb ik de camera weer uit de doos gehaald en hoop weer meer regelmatig op fotografie toe te leggen.
Klopt het dat je inmiddels de D200 in je bezit hebt? Ben erg benieuwd naar je ervaringen.

Really a picturesque scene. The immense landscape dwarfs the little village of cottages. One wonders what the people are like who live here. Their lives must be very different from ours. Well done.
