[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This summer I haven't spend much time behind the computer. I had an early spring holiday and was quite busy during June and July. The start of August I spend three weeks as a guide on Spitsbergen or as the Norwegians say Svalbard.
On one of the trips ashore I found this Polar cress Cardamine nymanii. It belongs to the Cardamine family of which this is the high arctic species. THis 'little sister' of other species grows on the tundra vegetation.
It's great to see this delicate flower in the harsh environment.

hi jacob,
indeed, a very frail and beautiful flower.
the composition is very tender with a lovely light, soft natural colours, perfect focus.
like the simpleness of this picture.

Hoi Jacob,

thank you for this beautiful pic and interesting flower, Ori

Stunning capture! It's beautiful. Well done.
Best wishes,
Achim

Hello Jacob,
Very sharp capture of this pretty Cardamine flower all alone on the harsh tundra. Lovely colours and a fine composition. I'm impressed by your guiding on Svalbard!! You're obviously an expert on that part of the world! Hope you've brought some more fine shots with you home!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Jacob,
A lovely composition, and the delicate flower has been captured with skill!
The muted arctic colours of the surroundings make a good backdrop!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hello Jacob,
Beautiful capture of this arctic Cardamine: Interesting how large the flowers are inrelation to the stem and leaves compared to other cardamines in Europe.
Technically of high standard and nice blurred mossy BG.
If you spent some time on Svalbard you must have taken some bird shots that I look forward to seeing.
TFS and have a nice weekend!
Ivan

Life is really resilient. Here is this singular flower ready to reproduce. Others of it's species, through some mechanism, manage to bloom at the same time. And then there has to be some messenger present to transport the pollen. It's difficult to believe that it works. Thanks for sharing!

Reid

Hola Jacob,

Salutations
Hervé
