Alpine Arnica
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Alpine Arnica, in Norwegian Fjellsolblom (Arnica Angustifolia ssp alpina).
This one was growing at the mountain Fløya, a few kilometers southeast of Tromsø, at 640 m. This plant is not common here, and it is always a pleasure to find the few but relatively big flowers in areas of very low vegetation. Height is normally 10-25 cm.
In Scandinavia this specie is only growing in the northern mountains, normally in areas rich of limestone. |
