Hello Pablo, I like this kind of shot - dramatic contrast and here it works well. It would look good in a frame on a wall! You got great exposure on what must be a difficult scene to shoot, the blues are well saturated and the ice has good shadow and mid tones. Very nice composition and clear and sharp.

The winter is only just beginning, and already you speak about spring ! :-) But the picture looks very nice. I love the geometrical patterns of the broken ice, looks beautiful. i see you are getting ahead of the game here and wishing it was spring again..me too..
we dont really see ice like this or frozen rivers..i used to live in the usa and it did get a bit like this so i can feel the pleasure of that 'crack' and the returning sun in the sky each morning
ice well exposed so we can see the non white colour and texture

this is a very well composed image! Huge depth and a wonderful line of the river drawing us right into the background...the cracked ice is an awesome sight too! Excellent contrast between the dark blue of the river and the iced makes it a striking shot to look at...very well done.

Today it's -22*C here in Calgary; and, to see your ice breaking up gives me hope that soon our COLD WINTER will also be over with.
We have a similar situation here.

A lovely riparian scene in Springtime.
The serpentine lines of the river leads the eye through the composition .

Hi Pablo. Interesting to see ice on the riverside as seen here. I have not seen a river with ice on it before. It must get very cold for this effect. Most interesting notes about the salmon finding there way around these rivers. TFS. Murray.

A wonderful photo. I really like the art nature has created in this photo. The left over evidence from winter and the still limited ray of colors gave this photo a perfect abstract touch. The composition is great and makes you wonder what can be found around the bend.

As i said before, i know i've missed some lovely photos f you and i'm back today at this beauty here :)
What an impressive capture...i may be wrong here, but it might be a first for TN for this moment - defrosting river.
Anyway, it's a very original capture and presented in the "Pablo Minto Classical" way. The composition i would say is the main element here, because of the very careful placement of the items in the frame.
Also, the exposure, although difficult, was very well managed and the colors are charming.
Very good contrast and DOF, too.
All these elements put in the same scene and added to the impact generated by the big blocks of ice braking make a superb shot!
